The Academy of Court Reporting and Technology was founded in
1970 as a court reporting school. From 1970 to 1984, the Academy built a national reputation for producing outstanding reporters and placing them throughout the United States. In 1984, because of increasing demand for qualified paralegals and legal secretaries, the Academy expanded its vision to include these areas. In 2001, the growth and need for investigative and security specialists pointed the Academy toward the development and implementation of its Security & Investigation program. In 2006, the Academy became a subsidiary of Delta Career Education Corporation. In 2008, the Academy initiated an expansion of its offerings to serve the needs of the business and healthcare community and to provide increasing employment opportunities for its graduates.
