Certified Personal Trainer by a NYS Department of Education Licensed School in Manhattan
The American Academy of Personal Training is a private vocational school licensed by the NYS Department of Education with the purpose of preparing students for a career as a professional fitness trainer. The AAPT program is a 260 Hour (3 or 6 Month) course and is designed for professionals who work one-on-one with their clients in a variety settings, including but not limited to, health and fitness clubs, schools, the outdoors, and clients' homes.
Our program thoroughly prepares students with the knowledge and skills that are needed in order to prescribe exercise and direct the fitness programs for active and sedentary physically healthy individuals, as well as the elderly, obese, diabetics and hypertensive clients.
AAPT certified trainers will have a deep understanding of biomechanics, training adaptations, anatomy, exercise physiology, and exercise prescription, that far exceed the current standards in the industry. Along with classroom lectures and special workshops lead by guest experts in the field, the program will also include a comprehensive practical component with daily instruction in our state-of-the-art gym facility. As a result, we are confident that AAPT graduates will represent a new breed of fitness trainer that will have a profound impact on the health and fitness community.
