| The Art Institute of Washington, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, is located in the Rosslyn section of Arlington, Virginia. Arlington County is an urban area of about 26 square miles located directly across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. Arlington has over 170 county parks and playgrounds, including over 80 miles of bicycle routes and jogging trails. Washington, D.C., the nation's capital, is a thriving metropolitan area of 523,000 ethnically diverse people.
