Computer Animation
"Do you watch movies for the special effects...?"
Do you still watch Cartoon Network? Did you dream of asking
"Laura Croft" to the prom? Is your daytimer filled
with color and doodles? Do you draw constantly? Do you watch
movies for the special effects and insist that you could one-up
them? Do you get excited when Pixar announces they are releasing
a new animated feature film? Do you dream of creating the
perfect virtual reality video game? Face it, you're an animator
waiting to happen!
Animators make things come to life. Animators can specialize
in motion, feature films, materials, and more. Motion control
animators are responsible for animating physical models or
computer generated images with respect to how an object moves.
Feature film animators develop either 2-D or 3-D animations
for the motion picture industry like the animations seen in
Toy Story 2. Materials specialists build object surfaces,
textures, terrains, and fractals for 3-D models. These animators
are responsible for creating a dinosaur's skin like in Jurassic
Park, or creating the perfect prehistoric setting in The Flintstones.
If you are an animator, you are never without a pencil. You
usually have a sketch pad, colored pencils, and a Sharpie
or two nearby. You are quietly creative and you are a perfectionist
about your artwork. You have a unique ability to use the computer
as a creative tool. You love to draw and you long to be a
part of the magic that was Walt Disney-to possess the ability
to animate things to life.
Animator is just one of the many careers that computer animation
degree students can prepare for at the International Academy
of Design & Technology, Tampa. Here are a few more exciting
careers to consider… special effects artist, game design
animation assistant, shader, motion capture animator, modeler,
and bench animator.

Production program is to prepare students for professional
opportunities in digital cinematography, editing, and special
effects. The program focuses on the use of industry-current
digital video and audio technology, hardware, software and

the planning phase of movie development. Students can go on
to learn the fundamentals of audio for media, advanced editing
techniques, DVD (Digital Versatile Disks) production, and
digital compositing and special effects. Each class builds
upon the concepts taught in the previous term, leading up
to a final project that will encompass all in which they have
been taught.
Not only are students given the knowledge to create both
fiction and non-fiction videos, but stunning visual special

Classes consist of a well-balanced mix of studio and field
production. Lab rooms are outfitted with industry-current
Macintosh computers, industry standard software, and the hardware
necessary to provide the required hands-on training this program
provides.

Fashion Design and Marketing
"Did you make your own prom dress?"
Are you already a fashion stylist for your mom and friends?
In high school, did you make your own prom dress because you
couldn't find anything that fit your style? Do you stay up
late Oscar night, just so you can rip on what the stars are
wearing right along with Joan Rivers? Are you irritated when
you see people using cell phones as an accessory? Do you already
know what your label name will be when you make it? Face it,
you just might be a fashion designer!
Fashion designers provide design ideas within a company's
price range for a line of clothing. Fashion designers sketch
original designs, research the market for trends, dig for
the ultimate fabric, and ultimately infuse style on everything.
Color, line, design, drape, pattern making, rendering, trims,
accent-all terms that are second nature to fashion designers.
If you are a fashion designer, you usually have an assortment
of threads hanging from your lapel and your car looks like
you're into voodoo with all of the straight pins strewn on
the floor. You are full of creativity and you express your
style in everything you do — you see your clothing and
sense of style as an extension of who you are and what you
are all about. You love to make people feel good about themselves,
that's what drives your passion to create. You yearn to see
people wear your clothes down the runways of Paris, Milan,
New York, and ultimately, in your own hometown.
Fashion design is just one of the many careers that fashion
design and marketing degree students can prepare for at the
International Academy of Design & Technology, Tampa. Here
are a few more exciting careers to consider… fashion
styling, fashion illustration, production, costume design,
merchandising, textile artistry, and pattern drafting.

Interior Design
"Does your spouse tire of your constant rearranging
of the living room furniture?"
Do you immediately survey an office for design perfection
the minute you enter it? Do you constantly critique poor space
planning? In high school, were you the only one who knew CAD
wasn't just a "bad guy"? Do you have the
burning desire to design your world? Face it; you just might
be an interior designer waiting to happen!
Designers plan, direct and often procure the selections and
oversee the installation of decorative and functional materials
for an attractive environment. Designers are responsible for
everything from the lighting used and how and where it will
be wired to what kind of doors and windows should be used
to increase the possibility of light. Designers are responsible
for more than making the wall paper match the crown molding,
they are responsible for creative an environment that is a
reflection of the person who or company who is to inhabit
the space.
If you are an interior designer at heart, you probably can't
venture into a home improvement store without spending more
than $100, your home probably has more swatches in it than
actual material, and let's not even talk about antique
hunting! You can't walk into a room without considering
what could be done. You are full of creativity and class and
you have a need to help others feel comfortable in their own
personal space.
Residential & contract (office) design are just some
of the many careers that interior design degree students prepare
for at the International Academy of Design & Technology
Tampa.
Face it, you're creative, and you belong here.

Recording Arts
The objective of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Recording Arts
program is to prepare students for professional opportunities
in the audio recording industry. The program focuses on the
use of industry-current audio technology, hardware, software
and industry standard equipment and studio facilities.
Recording Arts will begin by teaching music theory, an essential
element in establishing a career in the audio industry. Students
can then learn how to play the keyboard and read music notations;
this will further assist them in their career goals to become
either a recording engineer or producer. Students can then
go on to learn advanced recording and mixing and mastering
techniques, as well as the principles of sound design for
CD production, film and video, and DVD (Digital Versatile
Disks) production. Each class builds upon the concepts taught
in the previous term leading up to a final studio project
that will encompass all in which they have been taught.
Not only are students given the knowledge to create professionally
mastered music tracks, but DVD's (Digital Versatile
Disks) and 5.1 surround sound pieces as well. This program
is unique in the fact that there is a strong emphasis on digital
audio production and technique, an area somewhat overlooked
by other popular audio programs that focus on analog production.
Classes consist of a well-balanced mix of studio and field
production. Lab rooms are outfitted with industry-current
Macintosh computers, industry standard software, hardware,
mixers and keyboards. The digital studio houses an isolation
booth for studio recordings, as well as a full ProTools system.

Graphic Design
"Did you design your own tattoo?"
Were you ever caught drawing on walls with your crayons?
Do you read magazines for the ads and not the articles? In
high school, did you spend more time doodling on your notebook
than taking notes? Did you design your own tattoo? Your best
friend's? Face it, you just might be art director material!
Art directors oversee the production artists on a graphic
design team and are responsible for the overall look and feel
of a creative concept. Art directors generate ideas for magazine
ads, brochures, posters, Web, direct mail, TV commercials,
catalogs or any other material or medium that tries to persuade
someone to buy a product or service.
If you are an art director, your desk probably looks like
a cyclone hit it, and it's hard to find a Sharpie for all
of the toys scattered about. You'll Photoshop everything in
sight, then put it into Quark — even a picture of your
dog — nothing is sacred. You are full of creativity
and you express it in every way — even in the way you
dye your hair. And let's not even talk about the lava lamp,
the hula girl clock, or the fish-in-the-blender fish tank
in your office!
Art direction is just one of the many careers that graphic
design degree students can prepare for at the International
Academy of Design & Technology, Tampa. Here are a few
more exciting careers to consider… graphic design, marketing
design, environmental graphics, product design, packaging
design, photo imaging, and illustration.
