The Avant-Garde Cosmetology Programs
Ned Halimi, a former professional hairstylist, salon owner and cosmetology school manager, founded the Cosmetology and Spa Institute in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Ned's extensive background in cosmetology includes many advanced training classes taken at prestigious academies around the world, including the Vidal Sassoon Academy. His dynamic international experience is the foundation for the avant-garde cosmetology programs offered at our school.

Sassoon Academy School Connection
At The Cosmetology and Spa Institute, our management team has been trained by the internationally renowned Sassoon Academy and we are proud to be a member of the Sassoon Academy School Connection Program. Unlike other spa schools in Illinois, we are the only Sassoon Connection School in the entire state of Illinois.

Cosmetology Programs:
Our Cosmetology program consists of 1500 hours of theory and practical training, and it is 100% hands-on. We are now offering Vidal Sassoon training. The program is designed to prepare students to successfully pass the Illinois State Board Exam. Our training teaches students how to become creative, professional cosmetologists and how to succeed in their future careers.

Full-Time Cosmetology Program: Day Class--Offering both 35 hrs/wk and 40 hrs/wk options.
Part-Time Cosmetology Program: Evening Class, 20 hrs/wk
Our Esthetics program consists of 750 hours of theory and practical training. The program focuses on the medical aspects of esthetics and is designed to prepare students to successfully pass the Illinois State Board Exam. We provide basic training which prepares our students to work in salons and day spas. We also provide advance training which prepares our students to work in medical offices. Our training teaches students how to become professional estheticians and how to succeed in their future careers.

Our Instructor program consists of 500 hours of training for individuals who have at least 2 years of cosmetology work experience, and 1000 hours of training for those who have less than 2 years experience. Our training teaches students how to become professional cosmetology instructors and how to succeed in their future careers.
