In today's extended care facilities a certified nurse aide (CNA) is an important part of a health care team. The CNA is often referred to as the nurse's "eyes and ears", providing critical patient information to the nurse. They help develop care plans and assist with vital signs including temperature, pulse and respiration. In addition, a CNA's activities may include bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding patients. A CNA may work in a smaller private residence, serving not only as the primary medical specialist but as part of the family too.

Excellent job opportunities are expected for certified nurse aides and home health aides, due to rapid employment growth in the field and the need to replace the many workers who leave the occupation each year.

The CNA Plus Program at the HoHoKus School provides the skills to enter the field in as little as eight weeks, backed by one of the highest graduate placement rates in the nation. Students are taught on-site at the Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, the largest extended care facility in New Jersey, providing the valuable real-life skills that makes our graduates so successful.
