Georgia Career Institute was established in 1975 as the Artistic Beauty College with an original mission that was clear and simple: To provide women and men the best education possible through cosmetology programs. Throughout its history, the Georgia Career Institute has provided outstanding vocational preparation for its graduates to enter the fields of cosmetology and nail technology. In 2001 and in 2002, the educational mission was expanded to include not only cosmetology programs but also comprehensive programs in Esthetics and Massage Therapy.
Today, the Institute's singular goal continues to be to provide men and women the appropriate skills they need to enter and succeed in the industries of beauty and wellness. Program Courses:
Master Cosmetology Career Program
This Program is offered on all campuses in Georgia and Tennessee.
1500 Clock Hours of Study
The Cosmetology course is designed and administered to prepare students in the skills necessary for performing haircutting, hairstyling, permanent waving, coloring, manicures, pedicures and basic skin care. The course prepares the student to qualify to take the state board exam for a Cosmetology license. This program is 1,500 clock hours in length and offered in a day and evening schedule.
The Cosmetology Program is divided into three areas: Pre-Clinic Freshmen (250 Clock Hours), Intermediate (500 Clock Hours), and Clinic Seniors (750 Clock Hours).
Nail Technology Career Program
Offered at the both the Main and Branch Campuses
620 Clock Hours of Study
Through the Nail Technology Program, students develop manicuring and pedicuring skills, nail art, wraps, nail tips, and sculptured nails. Also in this program, an introduction to basic Aromatherapy and reflexology is included. After graduating from the nail technician program, students are prepared to take the State Board of Cosmetology licensing examination which consists of a written exam and a practical exam. This program is offered in both the Day and Evening Schedules.
The Nail Technology Program is divided into three areas: Pre-Clinic Freshmen (100 Clock Hours), Intermediate (150 Clock Hours), and Clinic Seniors (370 Clock Hours).
Esthetics Career Program
Offered at the Georgia, and McMinnville and Murfreesboro Campuses
1000 clock hours of study in GA or 750 clock hours of stufy in TN
One of the fastest growing professional segments of the cosmetology industry is Esthetics. The Esthetician is responsible for the care, repair and enhancement of the skin, our largest organ. As the general population ages and becomes more aware of the importance of this vital organ, the Esthetics industry is booming. Every day, more and more women as well as men are seeking treatment and instruction in the care of their skin.
The Esthetics career program at Georgia Career Institute prepares the student for a career in skin care and for the licensing examinatio of the Georgia or Tennessee boards of cosmetology. This program is offered in both the Day and Evening schedules at the Main campus in Georgia and the branch campuses in Tennessee.

Massage Therapist Program
DIPLOMA COURSE - 900 CLOCK HOURS
Offered at the Main Campus in Conyers, GA and in our TN campuses
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE:
This program prepares graduates with the physical and technical skills required by employers in a number of massage settings. Graduates are eligible to become Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB) upon passing the national examination. According to the American Massage Therapy Association, this certification represents the highest professional credential in the field and incorporates ethics, eligibility, practice and competency testing. The program curriculum includes a strong core of theory, with emphasis on practical skills development in a supervised clinical setting. Anatomy and physiology courses are integrated with instruction in therapeutic massage principles. Training in hydrotherapy and allied therapeutic modalities among other essential subjects, provides students with an excellent foundation for entry into the natural health field. In addition, the program includes training in business and career development, clinical assessment, injury evaluation and treatment, and newly emerging therapeutic modalities.
(Note: Student must successfully complete all 900 program hours and requirements in order to receive a diploma.)
