Associate Programs
Associate of Science in Accounting
The Associate of Science in Accounting degree program is built upon core accounting and bookkeeping courses that provide the essential competencies needed for graduates to be successful in entry level positions in the accounting field. Accounting has been a profession of choice for several years. From basic bookkeeping to auditing, accounting principles have continued to evolve throughout time to current day usage steeped in technology. Since entry into the 21st century, accounting practices have become increasingly complex, with changes in standards and improved technology. The changes have contributed to a growing need for individuals with entry-level skills in the accounting profession. The courses within this program specific to accounting include in depth general accounting courses, and also those covering payroll record keeping and income tax preparation. The students also obtain vital knowledge regarding business organizations, management, ethics, and social responsibility. In addition to these core accounting courses, select courses are provided to increase the student’s proficiency in technology with a specific emphasis on QuickBooks® and Peachtree® accounting software used by both small and large businesses.
Associate of Science in Business Administration
This program provides students with a base knowledge of business and management. The program will prepare students for professional progression in a variety of business environments.
The coursework in the general education module of this program is broad based and consists of coursework in the social sciences, mathematics, English, and psychology. The second module provides a strong emphasis in management, business law, ethics, human relations, marketing and accounting among other business related areas of study.
Associate of Science in Healthcare Administration and Management
This program provides a base knowledge of healthcare and management. The skills developed at MAU will prepare students for professional progression in a healthcare organization such as a medical office, clinic, nursing home or other health facility.
The first module consists of broad-based general education courses. The second module is the core business courses required of all students. The final portion focuses on the fundamentals of Healthcare Administration and Management such as medical and pharmaceutical terminology, anatomy and physiology, healthcare law, finance, and long-term managed care.
Associate of Applied Science in Administrative Office Management
The Administrative Office Management Applied Associate degree program stresses hands-on skills that are found in offices throughout the business, legal, and medical sectors. Applicants in this program choose between three concentrations: General, Medical, or Legal Administrative Management. Computer applications are emphasized within the program, as well as the soft skills necessary to manage personnel. Basic accounting abilities are built through the use of QuickBooks, the most popular computerized accounting system used in the office setting. Medical specialist receive training in Medical Manager, the software most commonly used the medical offices. Graduates will be employable in general, legal, or medical offices depending upon the area of specialization.
Associate of Science in Legal Assisting
As an assistant to an attorney, the legal assistant researches legal precedent, prepares legal documents, and investigates the facts. Research is conducted in support of a legal proceeding, to initiate legal action, or to develop a defense. Legal Assistants are not attorneys but they are qualified as a result of education and training to work in a law office, private and government offices, and corporations. The state of Florida regulates the practice of law but does not require a licensing procedure or certification for legal assistants. A graduate of an associate’s degree in legal studies from an approved program, plus a minimum of 2 years of work experience may become a Registered Paralegal/Legal Assistant in Florida. Furthermore, although it is not a requirement for work as a legal assistant, a graduate may seek national certification by passing an exam called the Certified Legal Assisting Exam that is administered by the National Association of Legal Assistants.

The objective of the Associate of Science Degree in Health Information Technology program is to provide students with a base knowledge of healthcare and management. Bachelor Programs
Bachelor of Science in Accounting
Accounting continues to be a field with one of the highest demands for graduates. Graduates of accounting programs are prepared for a large variety of opportunities. Individuals with accounting degrees, skills, and experience are prepared for managerial positions. The graduate may seek entry-level employment opportunities in administrative offices, financial institutions, accounting firms, tax preparation firms, and government entities.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
This program provides a broad view of today’s changing business organizations and the basic tools used to develop creative strategies and leadership. Our goal is to provide students the opportunity to attain success in the business world through innovation and productivity. The Business Administration program combines theory with courses that emphasize the importance of turning knowledge into discernable results. The program includes activities oriented towards developing leadership, communication and strategic thinking.
Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management
The Health Information Management program focuses on the management of healthcare data and information resources. Health Information Management provides an important link between the patient, payers such as insurance companies, and the healthcare providers. Graduates will be able to use technology to collect, store, analyze, and retrieve healthcare data. HIM professionals provide information to other members of the healthcare team for purposes of planning, financing, and evaluating healthcare services. The program is an excellent career choice for those who wish to work in the healthcare industry, but prefer the technology aspect rather than working directly with patients. Job opportunities for the HIM professional exist in multiple settings throughout the healthcare industry: hospitals, clinics, research facilities, and physician practices.
Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management
This program prepares individuals to manage the development of human capital in both public and private organizations, and to provide related services to individuals and groups. The knowledge and skills acquired will become strong foundation for students desiring to pursue a career as a human resource professional. Students will develop creative leadership abilities in human resource management to add value to the overall success of a business enterprise.
Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies
The graduate of the paralegal program will have the education and training to work under the direction and supervision of an attorney and to perform specifically delegated substantive legal work under an attorney’s supervision. Due to the high demand for legal work, attorneys have turned to paralegals to assist in not only the writing and research aspects of law but also in preparing for litigation. Courses and assignments replicate real life situations in and out of the courtroom, or law office. As an assistant to an attorney, the paralegal researches legal precedent, prepares legal documents, and investigates facts. The paralegal program has been developed to prepare the graduate in additional areas of law with advanced skills in litigation beyond the legal assistant program. Graduates may work in private law office, government offices, and corporations. The students are provided with a capstone course that includes preparation for certification. Certification is voluntary and optional, and not required for employment as a paralegal. Upon graduation from the program, the student may become a Florida Registered Paralegal.

Master of Business Administration
The MBA courses at MAU are designed to give students the opportunity to master vital skills for the business management process and to gain the knowledge required to successfully manage an organization. The objective of this program is to provide advanced training in the field of Business Administration. Graduates of this program will have received extensive instruction in significant areas of business operations and will be well-equipped to participate in high-level decision making in the area of management, marketing, human resources, and managerial finance.
Master of Business Administration | Accounting
The Master of Business Administration with an Accounting Concentration is the culminating degree offered at Millennia Atlantic University providing the final step to obtain advanced skills in accounting. Accounting professionals are found in a variety of managerial positions in numerous enterprises. An accounting background affords the individual an opportunity to advance through the ranks of an organization.
Master of Arts Human Resource Management
This program provides students with advanced training in the human resource industry supported by material related to management, economics, and leadership. The coursework is divided between management courses that relate human resources with corporate decision making, and courses that are directly related to key subject matter.
At MAU, the program prepares students to be strategic and tactical contributors to business organizations by teaching concepts and skills needed to acquire, develop and retain qualified human capital.
Master of Science in Health Information Management
The Health Information Management Master's Degree program at Millennia Atlantic University focuses on the management of healthcare information resources and technology. The curriculum is designed for the practicing health information management professional who wishes to obtain a master’s degree. It is also available for those who have completed the Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management. The program is a blend of technical and managerial skills. The information may be used in a current position and to advance to a higher level position. The health information professional must adhere to the Code of Ethics of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Graduates will be prepared to obtain positions within the healthcare industry such as healthcare information administrators and department heads in hospitals, clinics, and research facilities.
