AUDIO TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM CONCEPT
Today's audio industry requires a broad knowledge of technology and a wide variety of specialized skills in recording, editing, mixing and mastering audio. Studios found in the industry range from small home studios to major commercial recording facilities featuring large format consoles such as SSL and Neve. SAE’s Audio Technology Program provides the required diversity in equipment and software applications necessary for success in the music industry. Students are prepared through practical exercises, theory classes and the foundation of professionalism. Students acquire essential experience using industry standard equipment in order to be well prepared for a career in the industry or individual ventures.
ELECTRONIC MUSIC PRODUCTION CONCEPT
The Electronic Music Production (EMP)
program immerses students in the
fundamentals of modern electronic music
creation. It provides them with the tools and
techniques necessary to enter today's ever
changing audio market with a competitive
edge and a comprehensive knowledge base.
From music production to live performance,
students will learn how to take their music
and productions to the next level. During the
course of the EMP program students will have
access to SAE's industry standard MIDI suites
and receive instruction and feedback from
seasoned industry professionals. Whether you
are a budding producer or an established DJ,
the EMP course offers a wealth of knowledge
that will benefit you as you enhance your
production skills. Each class is designed to teach
students new techniques to apply to their music.
AUDIO TECHNOLOGY GOALS
Graduates of SAE’s Audio Technology Program are able to operate a wide variety of professional, industry standard equipment. Graduates are required to complete comprehensive assignments including MIDI programming, recording, editing, mixing and postproduction projects. Students must also work extensively with multiple digital audio workstations such as
Pro-Tools, Logic, Reason and Ableton Live.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Audio Technology Programs at SAE Atlanta are designed to train students for entry-level positions as Audio Engineers in the areas of commercial recording, broadcast engineering, postproduction and live sound. SAE Institute provides students with the necessary understanding of the music industry preparing them for entry-level positions in the entertainment businesses including record companies, production houses, recording studios, sound reinforcement companies, television studios and other related businesses.
