Accounting
Salter College offers associate degree and certificate programs for a career in Accounting. Every type of business, large or small, needs employees skilled in the area of accounting. At Salter College, you'll learn accounting methods, computer software, management, and professional skills. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared for a position in payroll, accounts payable/receivable, tax preparation, banking, bookkeeping or the specialty of your choice. |
Office Administration: Executive, Legal, & Medical
The Office Administration Program prepares students for employment as part of the professional office administrative teams in executive, legal or medical offices. The students will develop extensive computer competencies and analytical skills using Microsoft Office Applications and computerized accounting software. The combination and balance of office administration skills with humanities and social science courses prepare Salter students to integrate all office and computer competencies skillfully into the work environment, to think critically, communicate effectively, demonstrate professional level interpersonal skills, and make clear decisions as required by today's professional office administrators. The curriculum is designed to cover the full range of skills required for the office administrator including multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, creating and presenting data using PowerPoint and the continuation of life-long learning in a technology driven career.
The Office Administration Program offers three concentrations for student choice: Executive, Legal and Medical. Each concentration has courses to support the specific area of interest. All students are provided with the skills to successfully participate in Microsoft Office Users Specialist (MOUS) Certification. |
Medical Assisting
Salter College offers Associate Degree and Certificate programs for a career in Medical Assisting. Medical Assisting is one of the top three fastest growing fields in America. Medical Assistants are multi-skilled practitioners with a wide range of clinical and administrative duties. Business Office Support
The Business Office Support Certificate Program prepares students for employment within any office setting as a support member of the office team. Students will develop a wide variety of computer skills using Microsoft Office Applications and computerized accounting software. Students will develop the interpersonal, communication foundations and key office skills to enhance their value within a company or organization. The externship component provides practical experiences in the work place, a capstone for all the program student learning outcomes and invaluable prior work experience for student resumes. Students are provided with the skills to successfully participate in Microsoft Office Users Specialist Certification (MOUS). |

Students will become familiar with medical terminology, the administrative office procedures and computerized office procedures, specific to the various medical office environments. Students will develop a variety of computer skills using Microsoft Office Applications to successfully participate in the Microsoft Office Users Specialist Certification (MOUS). Students will demonstrate the interpersonal, communication foundations and key office skills to enhance their value with any medical office, clinic or hospital setting. Massage Therapy
The Massage Therapy Certificate Program prepares the students for an exciting career in therapeutic massage. From the beginning, the students are engaged in medical and educational courses that provide the essential foundation for the massage techniques required in this emerging health career field. The massage hands-on courses immerse the students in the classical massage techniques along with advanced therapeutic procedures and soft tissue manipulation. Emphasis on developing a business, communications skills and human relations develops the level of professionalism required in the health and wellness community. Upon completion of this certification program, students are prepared for the National Examination. |
Culinary Arts
The Culinary Arts Certificate Program prepares students for exciting careers in food service preparation. From the beginning, the students are engaged in food preparation and educational courses in both classroom and laboratory settings. These courses provide the essential foundation for the food service techniques required of the industry.
The program aims to develop professionalism and excellence in students. The combination of academic, laboratory, and hands-on classes will develop the skills need in food production methods, cost control, nutrition, sanitation, and food marketing. |
Office Support Specialist
The Office Support Specialist Certificate Program prepares students for entry-level positions. The students will develop computer and analytical skills using software applications. |
Computerized Accounting
The Computerized Accounting Certificate Program is designed to provide graduates with the introductory skills necessary to secure their entry or advancement in the accounting job market. Students will be given a solid introduction to the most widely-used accounting software, giving them the skills necessary to perform a variety of basic data entry tasks. The integration of accounting methods and principles with business and computer technology courses broadens students' career choices and enhances critical business skills, such as decision-making, communication concepts and analytical thinking. |
