Audio Engineering
Our Audio Engineering Pro Tools Program provides comprehensive training in a professional environment. You train with audio engineering masters in our production studios, as well as in the classroom. You learn recording, audio editing, mixing, mastering, Foley, dialog, sound design, sound effects, voice-over production, video game audio, film audio, music audio, surround sound production and much more.
It is these audio engineering skills, in combination with Pro Tools certification training, that define today's audio engineering for film, TV, music, and video gaming industries. Within most audio productions there is now the expectation that a single, multi-skilled individual will perform all audio engineering tasks. The merging of multiple music production positions is the evolution of the contemporary audio engineer. This growing trend presents greater creative and economic opportunities for those in possession of the preferred skill set. The "path to industry"
At the heart of our program are our audio engineering instructors: top professionals with outstanding production credits recognized by the entertainment industry for sales and for creative achievements through innumerable awards and nominations, from Emmys, Golden Reels and Gold, Platinum and Diamond records. Also, a principal instructor in our Pro Tools Program created some of the Avid course material used at Pro Tools training centers around the world.
Our school's studio complex is a production facility acoustically designed for surround sound. It includes four surround sound control rooms in addition to a recording studio that has contributed to the sales of over 66 million records by renowned artists such as Madonna.
TV & Film Editing Program
Film editing is part art, part science, part craft, and part business - developing your skills as an editor demands that you to learn as much as you can about each of these different facets of editing.
From the golden era of Classic Hollywood movies to the birth of digital movies, the established tradition of master film editors training apprentices in the cutting room continues at Video Symphony. Our students learn the tools that enable them to achieve their artistic vision and acquire the skills to get work in the industry from masters of their craft.
Many universities and colleges offer only generalized media studies, or only focus on history and theory, or production. Video Symphony's TV & Film Editing Program is one of the most intensive professional movie editing programs in the world because we specialize in editing and post-production and we teach why, how-to, and how to get the job done and get paid for doing it, all at the same time.
New Media Production Program
Production Companies and Advertisers are increasingly tapping the potential of online video and video/interactive content for mobile devices. This has lead to an increasing demand for qualified professionals who can plan, produce, post and publish video content for online quickly and economically.
Non-linear editing tools have become more powerful and easier to use, broadband (computer and mobile) has become more available and now Advertisers expect Editors to wear many hats while simultaneously raising the production value of online content.
Video Symphony's New Media Video Editing Program addresses that challenge by preparing individuals to work in particular aspects of the production/post workflow or combine the skills and be able to "do it all"- create, edit and publish video specifically for online, mobile devices and tablet. The new media Video Editing Program provides a well-rounded education by combining the central skills of editing, motion graphics (2D and 3D) and rich media (video vis-a-vis flash and interactivity for online and mobile).
Motion Graphics
Video Symphony is the launching pad of many successful careers in editing, graphic animation & effects, Pro Tools and 3D animation. All over the globe, in every facet of these industries, our students have worked on countless feature films and television shows--from Comedy Central's South Park to big films such as Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and Disney's Tron Legacy.
Video Symphony's Graphics Animation & Effects Program helps students develop an extensive collection of motion graphic skills. Hands-on training is our primary approach and our students are educated using applications that are most favored in the broadcast design and effects industry. Those applications are: Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, Cinema 4D and Autodesk Maya - and our software versions are always one step ahead of the industry.
