Bakersfield College is a two-year institution of higher learning that was founded over 90 years ago. As one of the country's oldest continually operating community colleges, Bakersfield College provides its services to approximately 15,000 students. This California college is located on a 153-acre campus in Bakersfield, and also features extension sites at the Delano Center north of Bakersfield, and the Weill Institute in downtown Bakersfield.
With a wide array of course offerings -- including occupational, associate degree, and transfer programs -- Bakersfield College has something to offer nearly any kind of prospective student. In order to better aide its students in reaching their goals, Bakersfield College has constructed highly flexible program schedules and class options. Thanks to transfer agreements with four-year college and universities throughout California, Bakersfield College graduates are able to easily transfer into bachelor's degree programs with junior standing.
Bakersfield College is home to the William M. Thomas Planetarium since 1962.
