Buried in the heart of Barstow, California, Barstow Community College is an inexpensive education haven. On this campus, students will find associate degree and vocational certificate programs designed to fit their educational goals. Barstow Community College offers Associate in Arts degrees in Humanities as well as Social Science fields, Associate in Science degrees in Natural Science and Math fields, and Associate of Applied Science degrees in technical subjects ranging from Automotive Technology to Allied Health. For those who are looking for a shorter program of study, Barstow Community College also offers certificate and diploma programs in areas such as Child Development, Information Systems Management, and Photography.

The school offers a broad spectrum of academic and professional support programs designed to fit student needs. Student life is lively on Barstow Community College's campus. The school supports an extensive athletics program as well as its own student senate. Each year, Barstow sponsors educational, cultural, and recreational activities, all created to help campus feel less like a school and more like a community. Students are also encouraged to become part of the numerous on-campus clubs and organizations. Barstow supports its own chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honors society for two-year college students, a chapter of Alpha Gamma Sigma, the official California Community College Scholastic Honor Society, and a wide array of social organizations and student performing groups.

As of last fall, Barstow Community College added Culinary Arts, Electrical, Rough Carpentry, Fire Technology, and Warehousing to its academic catalogue.

Each year Barstow Community College hosts the annual Desert Heritage Writing Contest for students in grads 5 through 12.

Last year Barstow Community College opened a brand new $7 million Learning Resource Center which provides academic support to all students for free.

Low-income and first-generation college students will have extra financial support at their fingertips thanks to the Barstow Extended Opportunities Program.
