Cascadia Community College's mission is to foster a community of lifelong learners pioneering innovative pathways to successful learning, all in a global context. Based in Washington state, Cascadia Community College puts forth a caring culture that is learner-centered and environmentally sensitive, as well as globally aware and seamlessly linked with the community.
As the newest community college in the state of Washington, Cascadia Community College offers two-year degrees, certificate programs and a range of continuing education courses and professional training. The Washington college is ideal for students planning to pursue majors in the natural sciences, pre-med, engineering or computer science. Programs include an associate degree in integrated studies, an associate degree in science and an associate in applied science. Cascadia Community College recommends its associate degree in integrated studies for students who wish to focus on the liberal arts after transferring to a four-year college or university.
Cascadia Community College strongly believes in group work, as the Washington college cites research that shows teamwork directly furthers each student's core learning outcomes. According to Cascadia, employers consistently say they want employees that are able to communicate, problem solve, make decisions and interact with diverse individuals and viewpoints in a group setting.
Cascadia Community College is located on a 128-acre campus along Beardslee Boulevard in Bothell, a location it shares with the University of Washington. Of those acres, 58 are currently being restored to functioning wetlands with more than 400,000 trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants representing more than 20 plant species being hand-planted throughout the area.
