Founded as Brunswick College in 1961, Coastal Georgia Community College is a two-year institution of higher learning and member of the University System of Georgia. Today the college is located on 193 acres in Glynn county and is fully committed to giving the residents of Glynn, McIntosh, and Camden counties the education and career training opportunities that they need in order to succeed in the future.
Towards this end the Coastal Georgia Community College campus consists of several facilities that are dedicated to different disciplines and life paths. For example, the Allied Health Building is home to applied technology, business, and health sciences programs, while the Academic Building houses conventional liberal arts classes.
Overall, this Georgia college provides a variety of programs that are sure to provide for students whether they wish to transfer and attain a bachelor's degree, find their way into the workforce, or improve their professional and/or life skills. Students at Coastal Georgia Community College can compete in such varsity sports as men's basketball, women's softball, and cheerleading. The college competes in the Georgia Junior College Athletic Association (GJCAA), which is part of Region XVII of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
