Gadsden State Community College (GSCC) is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Reports from some of the universities to which GSCC students transfer have shown that GSCC students do as well as, and in some cases better than, students who complete their first two years at the university. Many Gadsden State Community College alumni have graduated from four-year institutions with honors and have continued their education to complete law school, medical school, pharmacy school, MBA programs, and graduate degrees in other fields of study.

For students who do not wish to complete a four year degree, Gadsen State Community College offers over 50 one-year and two-year career degrees and certificates which will qualify you to work in a technical or career field. Instructors in the career and technical programs meet the highest standards required by the Alabama State Department of Education. College studies show that job placement for graduates of GSCC's career and technical programs is at, and in some cases higher than, the national average. Each year, students in many of Gadsden State Community College's career and technical programs distinguish themselves in statewide and national competitions. Furthermore, students in the various two-year health career programs score at or higher than the State average on State Board exams for their selected fields of study.
