The smallest of the 15 community colleges in the Massachusetts higher education system, Greenfield Community College prides itself on providing a personalized education to each and every student. Enrollment here just barely exceeds the 2,300 mark, so you can expect small classes and personalized interaction with your professors. Students on this Pioneer Valley-based campus have both liberal arts and vocational programs of study at their disposal as well as non-credited personal development courses. Most students at Greenfield Community College enroll in one of the liberal arts programs of study on-campus. With course offerings in everything from Computer Science to Women's Studies, students have a wide array of academic options. Greenfield Community College has a high rate of success. Greenfield students complete 85 percent of the courses they sign up for and half of all graduates either continue their studies at Greenfield Community College or transfer to a four-year institution.

Greenfield Community College also has enrollment agreements with Holyoke Community College, Berkshire Community College, and Mount Wachusett Community College for associate degree programs. Greenfield students can complete the general education then transfer to a partner school to earn their degree. Transfer associate degree programs open to Greenfield students include Pharmacy Technology, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Radiologic Technology.

Greenfield Community College also offers shorter certificate programs in 13 areas of study including Real Estate, Massage Therapy, and Multimedia Design. Those pursuing degrees that require a licensure exam are in luck. Greenfield has a high licensure pass rate for its students. In 2005, 88 percent of all nursing students, 89 percent of all practical nursing students, and 93 percent of all paramedic students passed their licensure exams.

On-campus, Greenfield Community College supports an active student life that includes athletic teams, a student senate, on-campus social and cultural activities, and several student-led organizations. The school also supports a free on-campus Learning Center that provides students with academic advising, peer tutoring, computer labs, writing and math assistance, career counseling, and transfer guidance.
