Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) was established in 1964 to promote the academic, personal, and professional growth of the community and it continues to strive toward this mission today. HACC has six main campuses and offers courses at several other locations throughout south central Pennsylvania, making it convenient for students to attend classes close to home. In addition, HACC has a virtual campus in which courses are available entirely online. Students are able to earn Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS), and Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees, Certificates of Proficiency, and Diplomas at HACC through their hundreds of various programs.

Harrisburg Area Community College values the learning and development that takes place for students not only through academics but through extra curricular activities, as well. Harrisburg Area Community College students are able to participate in countless clubs and organizations from the Urban Poetry Club to the Student Government Association to Environmental Club and many, many more. There are also five varsity intercollegiate teams and one club team in the athletic department at HACC and students with an interest in the various sports are encouraged to try out.

Harrisburg Area Community College is committed to providing their students with the best educational experience possible. The tuition at HACC is the lowest in the area and the class sizes are kept low to promote individual attention from faculty. Comprehensive learning resources -- on campus and online -- are available for students and so is free tutoring. State-of-the-art computer labs and learning center support are other valuable tools provided for students. And academic advising, career counseling, and transfer planning are always available for students to access as they prepare for a successful future.
