Jefferson State Community College, founded in 1965, is one of Alabama's leading two-year colleges. For almost 40 years, Jefferson State Community College has provided excellence in education and employment training for the greater Birmingham area. Jefferson State offers more than 120 university transfer programs, 40 career programs with a variety of options, and dozens of certificate programs. Workforce training and personal enrichment for individuals also take place through a variety of credit and non-credit programs at Jefferson State Community College.
