For more than 42 years, John Tyler Community College has offered an affordable and accessible top-notch education to students in central Virginia. John Tyler offers more than 50 in-demand programs that give students the skills they need to transfer to four-year institutions, to enter the workplace or to change careers. Programs range from nursing, engineering, art, teacher education, and funeral services to police science, information technology, psychology, business management, and precision machining.
Over the years, John Tyler Community College has expanded with the community, becoming the fifth largest of the 23 institutions that comprise the Virginia Community College System. It primarily serves the cities of Colonial Heights, Hopewell and Petersburg, as well as the counties of Amelia, Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Prince George, Surry, and Sussex.
