Named for its sense of service to the community of Carbon County, Lehigh Carbon Community College has functioned as a two-year institution of learning since 1966. With the authority to award certificates, the Associate in Arts degree, Associate in Science degree, Associate in Applied Science degree, and diplomas in certain fields, this Pennsylvania college offers a wide variety of courses and programs that are sure to engage people of all learning levels.
Associate degrees in subjects from business administration, computer science, and fashion design, to engineering, graphic design, and sports management, are available and also allow for credit to be transferred to traditional four-year degree-granting institutions. This allows students who graduate from Lehigh Carbon Community College with an associate degree to transfer to another school's bachelor degree program while gaining junior status in the process. Other associate degree programs include aviation, criminal justice, hotel/restaurant management, and veterinary technician -- though these programs have no provisions for credit transfer.
In addition -- thanks to Lehigh Carbon Community College's partnerships with other higher learning institutions -- the school offers 10 bachelor's degree programs and one master's degree program on its campus. The bachelor's degree programs include accounting, nursing, engineering and technology, and business administration and are available at certain Lehigh Carbon Community College locations.
