Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Middlesex Community College has a long history of producing successful graduates. The school currently operates three brick-and-mortar campuses (in Middleton, Meridan, and Old Saybrook) and an extensive online learning program open to students across the nation. Students may take classes during the day, evenings, weekends, or during the school's summer session. Middlesex offers a wide range of associate degree and professional diploma programs to help students realize their career goals. Students have their choice of associate degree programs in 19 areas of study as well as three programs offered through the Connecticut Community College System in the areas of Engineering Science, Technological Studies, and Banking. Middlesex Community College also offers 23 professional diploma programs in fields ranging from Juvenile Justice to Help Desk Technician with three additional certificate programs offered through the Connecticut Community College System.

The school also offer non-credited professional development and workforce training courses as well as academic support services to ensure student success. Enroll here and students will have access to free academic advising, financial aid counseling, transfer advising, math, reading, and writing support, tutoring, career counseling, and job search support.

Each year, the college hosts an International Day to celebrate the histories and cultures of its international students and faculty. Middlesex students are treated to food and fashion from across the globe. The campus also hosts cultural and arts events throughout the year. The 2007 lineup of events included an African drumming presentation and an Indian music lecture and performance. The school also hosts art exhibitions by students and visiting artists and hosts performances by student art groups throughout the year. Students who become an active part of the Middlesex Community College campus community will be rewarded upon graduation. In addition to receiving a diploma, all students receive a co-curricular transcript that keeps track of all student clubs, athletic activities, and volunteer hours completed during their Middlesex Community College tenure.
