With 80+ years of service under its belt, Mississippi Delta Community College has a long history of providing an affordable education to students from across Mississippi. The school currently offers one- and two-year degree and certificate programs in a wide variety of fields. Whether you're looking for a transfer degree program in information technology or a vocational program in culinary arts, Mississippi Delta is a one-stop shop for your educational needs. Mississippi Delta Community College offers particularly strong programs in the area of health care. Students interested in medicine, nursing, health care, or health care administration will find nine programs of study ranging from dental hygiene technology to phlebotomy. For students who would like to continue their health care degree program after they're finished at Mississippi Delta, the school offers a pre-professional degree option in the field of Health Science.
In addition to offering academic coursework, the school also operates The Mississippi Delta Law Enforcement Training Academy where future law enforcement officers can receive both basic and specialized training. For students not yet ready to enter college, Mississippi Delta Community College provides free courses and workshops in basic skills areas including GED preparation and English as a Second Language. Students who graduate from the GED preparation course successfully are also eligible to their first credited college course free of charge. Through the school's Work-Based Learning program, students can gain real-world experience before they graduate.
Mississippi Delta Community College's Capps Technology Center provides computer labs for student use, a distance learning lab complete with two-way video and audio feeds, a full-scale computer testing facility, a state-of-the-art kitchen donated by Viking Corporation, and an office workroom you're your copying, faxing, and laminating needs. Additional support services provided by Mississippi Delta Community College include free academic advising, financial aid counseling, support for disabled students, distance learning support, tutoring, assessment testing, and job support help.
