Northeast Alabama Community College is a two-year, publicly funded institution that provides associate degree and professional certificate programs of study to students from across Alabama. Programs of study run the gamut from agriculture to education to nursing. Additionally, the school also offers non-credited courses available in both traditional format as well as online. Northeast Alabama Community College provides academic programs as well as workforce development options including GED preparation classes designed for local businesses. Students not yet ready to enter collegiate study are welcome to brush up on their basic skills here too.

Thanks to the STARS guaranteed transfer program, students who begin their college tenure at Northeast Alabama Community College will be able to transfer to a four-year institution with ease. The STatewide Articulation Reporting System guarantees that students who earn their two-year degree from Northeast Alabama Community College and who pass certain courses will automatically be guaranteed admittance into the in-state public university of their choice.

Northeast Alabama Community College prides itself on offering accessible, low-cost educational options to students. In-state students pay just $95 per credit hour at this institution, less than one-third the cost of a single credit at the average four-year public college or university. On top of your classes, tuition here also buys access to the school's numerous support services. The Center for College Success offers personal counseling, advising, placement testing, career advice, job search help, tutoring, and career development exercises. Students will also have access to free academic advising, financial aid counseling, transfer assistance, and support services for disabled students.

When they're not in class, Northeast Alabama Community College students participate in a wide array of on campus activities. This school is home to 29 student organizations that range from political groups to social clubs to professional associations. Student performers will have the opportunity to strut their stuff throughout the year thanks to Northeast Alabama's on campus arts groups. The school is home to two campus choral groups, a jazz band, and a theatrical troupe.

Northeast Alabama Community College is home to four nationally-recognized honor societies including a campus chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honors society for two-year college students.

Northeast Alabama Community College is also home to a "Reflections" art exhibit which profiles American photographers from 1935 through 1943. It is one of the only exhibits of its kind in Alabama.

Thanks to a partnership with Athens State University, students can start their degree program at Northeast Alabama Community College then transition to Athens State without losing any credits.

The school offers technical certificates in the areas of child development, cosmetology, drafting and design technology, emergency medical services, industrial electronics, and medical assisting.
