Northeast Community College, situated at the northeast edge of Norfolk, Nebraska, is the only community college in the state that offers one- and two-year vocational, liberal arts, and adult education programs all on one main campus. Since its merger of two unique institutions of higher education -- Northeastern Nebraska College and Northeast Nebraska Technical College -- Northeast Community College has grown into a distinct college with its own identity.
Unlike many community colleges, Northeast Community College offers both on- and off-campus housing services to its students. On-campus housing is available for full-time NECC students at the Norfolk campus. Students who live on campus at Northeast Community College have the luxury of being close to their classes and teachers in addition to other services available on campus. NECC students living on campus have a meal plan, taking the worry out of what to make and how to make their meals. And, nationally, students who live on-campus do better academically than those who live off-campus.
However, students who apply to live on campus at Northeast Community College but don't receive an offer to do so can still receive off-campus housing services from the College. Once students complete the application for housing, NECC provides services to help them find the off-campus housing situation best-suited to them in Norfolk County. Northeast Community College attempts to match roommates according to the preferences they indicate -- from gender to personality to hobbies and more. Northeast Community College recognizes the importance of feeling safe and comfortable as a student and does its best to provide that feeling for everyone living on and off campus in all aspects of their educational experience.
Northeast Community College offers all students an excellent college experience. Personal attention, affordable tuition, convenient housing, flexible scheduling, and expert faculty are a few of the main reasons why students choose Northeast Community College and are happy with their choice.
