Northwest State Community College also offers a host of student support services including childcare facilities, individual and group tutoring, walk-in writing and math labs, career counseling, academic advising, and GED preparation courses. Besides career planning services, the school also has a strong alumni support network that's actively involved in career advising for new grads.
Beyond simply providing educational services, Northwest State Community Collegealso acts as a hub for information on sustainable living. The school's Education for Sustainability program provides information on upcoming "green" events and profiles individuals that exemplify environmentally conscious living. Sustainable projects the school is taking on in 2007 include a school-wide energy audit in which students will assess ways the school can reduce energy use, implementation of a campus-wide recycling project, an exhibit on native species landscaping, and the fourth annual, school-sponsored Sustainability Day.
