When Pikes Peak Community College opened its doors in September, 1969, more than 800 students attended classes in rented buildings in Old Colorado City on the west side of town.
The full-service Centennial Campus was built at the south end of Colorado Springs in 1978. In that same year, the name of the college was officially changed to Pikes Peak Community College.
Serving the residents of El Paso, Teller, and Elbert Counties, Pikes Peak Community College offers more than 125 programs of study in transfer liberal arts and sciences areas and career and technical training.
Currently, Pikes Peak Community College helps over 16,000 people each year begin their education, advance their careers, and enrich their lives.
