Quinebaug Valley Community College currently offers associate in arts, science, and applied science degree programs as well as 24 certificate programs. Students have their choice of degree programs in 17 areas of study, all of which can be applied to a bachelor's degree program at a four-year institution. In conjunction with the Connecticut College of Technology, students may complete a two-year degree in engineering, technology, plastics, or construction at Quinebaug Valley then automatically transfer to Central Connecticut State University, Charter Oak State College (Connecticut's External Degree Program), or the University of Connecticut to complete their bachelor's degree without losing any credits.

In order to cater to varying schedules, Quinebaug Valley Community College offers classes during the fall, spring, and summer semesters during the day or evening. The school also operates a distance learning program in conjunction with the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium. For students that can't regularly make it to campus, the CDLC provides access to online courses and degree programs from more than 35 two and four-year institutions across the state.

Quinebaug Valley Community College actively recruits high school students to campus as well. Through partnerships with area high schools, qualified students in grades 11 and above who show academic excellence may attend Quinebaug free of charge. Students must have a scholastic average of 80 as well as recommendation by a guidance counselor or principal.

The Quinebaug Valley Career Services Center provides support to student both during their college tenure and afterwards. The Center specializes in providing human, online, and print resources to help students land that first job after college. In addition to career counseling and job search help, students will also receive free career testing, resume development, assistance writing cover letters, networking workshops, and personality testing. Additional support resources on campus include free tutoring, academic advising, skills assessment testing, computer labs, and skills workshops in the areas of math and English.

  • Quinebaug Valley Community College's Opportunity for Success program provides additional support services including one-on-one advising, financial aid counseling, career support, and a first-year college success course to students ages 17 through 21.

  • Through the New England Regional Student Program, New England residents who can't find their chosen program of study in-state may attend Quinebaug Valley Community College at a reduced cost.

  • Seniors ages 62 and over can attend Quinebaug Valley Community College for free!

  • First-generation college students in any of 13 science-related fields will find academic and financial support through Quinebaug Valley Community College's Strong-CT program. Those enrolled in the program will receive academic mentorship, leadership development, access to community outreach programs, textbook stipends, and transfer opportunities to the University of Connecticut.
