Southside Virginia Community College is one of the 23 colleges within the Virginia Community College System. Established in 1970, the school has steadily grown in the years since, becoming recognized as the 26th fastest growing community college in the nation in the process. In fact, Southside Virginia Community College now encompasses seven campus and center sites throughout the state, in addition to an online campus.

With so many locations and facilities it's no wonder that this Virginia college offers many types and levels of programs. For starters, students can choose from an occupational-technical program that trains them to enter or rise in the workforce, an associate degree program that prepares them for a technical career or education, or an academic program that allows them to transfer to a four-year college or university and earn a bachelor's degree. And with subjects ranging from nursing, pre-engineering, and electronics, to automotive technology, administration of justice, and information systems technology, these classes are sure to pique a lot of prospective students' interests.

Even high school students can benefit from the education offered at Southside Virginia Community College. Thanks to the Dual Enrollment program, students can enroll in -- and receive credits for -- college courses before they even receive their high school diploma.
