Affordability is the name of the game on this campus. Truman Community College provides low-cost educational options at less than one-third the price of most four-year institutions. This school offers one and two-year degree programs in 12 different areas of study. For students looking to transfer to a four-year institution, Truman Community College offers Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science degree programs and maintains articulation agreements with several four-year institutions located throughout the state. The school also maintains an ongoing partnership with the DePaul University School of New Learning. Through the Truman-Depaul agreement, Truman Community College students take courses taught by professors at both schools and earn credit good at both institutions while paying Truman prices. All students may elect to take their courses during the day, evening, or weekends or may enroll in any of Truman Community College's distance learning programs.
Truman Community College is dedicated to supporting local businesses as well. The school offers specialized business and industry training courses in addition to its traditional academic fare. Ranging from basic skills workshops to customized training and consulting services, Truman Community College offers cost-effective training and support for the surrounding community. The school prides itself on providing a practical education to all students regardless of industry. Truman Community College's Service Learning program gives students the opportunity to gain real-world experience while they study by providing volunteer and community development projects that correspond with in-class learning.
In addition to traditional courses, the school also provides free GED, English as a Second Language, and Citizenship courses to qualified students. Truman's continuing education department offers non-credited personal enrichment courses geared towards older adult learners. Truman Community College provides a wide array of academic and financial support services including academic advising, transfer assistance, career counseling, assessment testing, tutoring, financial aid counseling, and support services for physically disabled students.
