American Career College

Medical careers may be among some of the most rewarding and there are many options when considering medicine. From dental to optical to medical careers, there are many things to consider when checking out a career where helping others is a main priority. American Career College is one of those schools that have a variety of programs to fit the needs of many different people.
American Career College was founded in 1978 as the American College of Optics, but as time went on the health care school expanded. In 1993, the health care school was renamed to be American Career College and has been serving students on their Los Angeles, Orange County, and Inland Empire campuses with the expanded programs.
Most programs at American Career College are offered to accommodate its students. Both day and evening classes are available for students so that they may fit these health care classes into their own schedules. Most classes require 20 hours a week in class and programs take anywhere from eight to 10 months to complete.
Upon completion of a program at American Career College, students earn certificates in their respective fields. Although the school is accredited, it does not offer two- or four-year degrees. With that in mind, there are no required liberal arts classes. Instead, there are solely classes that will advance a person's knowledge of the field they are studying. Some of the available programs include dental assisting, surgical technician, massage therapy, vocational nursing, medical billing, and more. Students must note, however, that not all campuses of American Career College offer the same programs.
The admissions process at American Career College is fairly simple. Those students who have a strong desire to advance their career or perhaps make a career change and are serious about these programs may be accepted into American Career College. Before enrolling, however, it is required that each student visit the American Career College campus in order to see the school and what it offers firsthand. They must also fill out an application and participate in an interview with an admissions officer at American Career College. Family members are strongly encouraged to partake in this process, as the decision will affect them as well.
The career services department at American Career College aims to arm students of the school with the skills to go out and secure the best jobs. The department offers services, like resume writing, interviewing skills, and time management workshops. It is through this department, lab facilities that give students hands-on learning, and the detailed programs that students can go out and really find their dream jobs.
For a health care education, a flexible schedule, and a short program that will teach you what you need to know, American Career College is here to serve you.
