Photographers have a unique job because they get to capture special moments in a format that will last forever. Being able to have an artistic eye and a vision is very important for a photographer'. It's also important to be somewhat independent, as this is generally a one-man job in which most photographers are self-employed. Duties of a photographer
A photographer is in charge of capturing an event on film. Using a professional camera, appropriate lighting, and the right attitude for the shoot, a photographer can enjoy great success. Photographers also need to be able to work with subjects in a shoot or make their presence almost unknown in certain situations, such as a party or other important event.
Where to find photographer jobs
Many photographers are self-employed and do a lot of freelance work. They may showcase their portfolio online so that prospective clients may view their work more easily. Additionally, photographers may work with studios, businesses, and at news studios. When covering the news, photographers may go out into the field and work at a variety of events, be it upscale or m more mundane.
Photographer programs
Depending on the type of industry you want to get into, you may attend a few different photographer programs. A photojournalism program helps those wanting to get into a news or magazine-type career. This is usually a four-year degree that gives a well-rounded education, as well as specific courses in photography. Some other photography programs may be available at vocational schools, where students apply themselves in their chosen field of study.
Demand for photographer jobs
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), there were about 122,000 people employed as photographers in 2006. About half of those were self-employed, with the other half working at contracted studios, news outlets, and ad agencies. The demand for photography jobs will increase by the year 2016 about as fast as the average. However, the field of photography is a very competitive one, as the work makes for a fulfilling, attractive career.
If you are artistic, creative, and have a keen eye for detail, a photographer job may be your best fit. So take a shot and reach for for your dreams.
