HTML
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the language of the Web, and is therefore critical to your webmaster training. An HTML file is a text file containing small markup tags that tell the browser how to display the page. If you want to become a webmaster, you'll need to be a master of HTML.

CSS
Styles define how HTML elements are displayed. CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) allow you to create Web sites in which the content of HTML documents is clearly separated from the presentation layout. And when styles are saved in external files, you can change the style and appearance of all the HTML pages in your Web just by changing your CSS document. JavaScript
JavaScript is a scripting language used for client-side scripting, which is about programming the behavior of the browser. This is important in webmaster programs, as JavaScript enables you to easily deliver dynamic Web content.

XML
While HTML was designed to display data and focus on how data looks, XML (eXtensible Markup Language) was designed to describe data and focus on what data is. Webmaster programs teach you how to structure, store, and send information using XML. XML is not a replacement for HTML, but a complement.

Server-Side Scripting
Server-side scripting is about programming the behavior of the server. For instance, in webmaster programs, you'll learn how to use server-side scripting to access databases and return the results to a browser.

SQL
When you become a webmaster, you'll need to know SQL (Structured Query Language), a standard computer language used to access and manipulate databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, and Access. In order to manage your data, you'll need to know SQL.
