Fresh off their NCAA Championship appearance, the University of Illinois ( Chicago, IL) is among those great colleges. Illinois is home to the famous “ Windy City,” Chicago. While living in Illinois, visiting the capital city is a must. Chicago holds the Sears Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the world. There you can look out on the whole city from the Skydeck and find more Chicago landmark locations from the Tower's specialized tourism computer touch screens.

Chicago is also home to some of the most legendary sporting organizations in history. The Bulls, led by the great Michael Jordan, won six NBA world titles in the 1990's, giving the team and the city of Chicago much acclaim and notoriety. Also located in Chicago are two baseball teams with rich traditions- the Cubs and White Sox. Wrigley Field, where the Cubs play, is one of the oldest ballparks in existence today and a true city landmark. Going to school at an Illinois university will put you right near all that the great city of Chicago has to offer.

Springfield , one of the larger cities in Illinois, is the resting-place of Abraham Lincoln, one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history. You can also visit the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum in Springfield, as well as, his old home in which he lived for 25 years.

Attending one of the many Illinois universities gives a student an opportunity to experience many different things. From the shopping to the sports to the landmarks to the museums, there's always something to see and do in Illinois, no matter what part of the state you're in
